A smashing end of the Olympic skating season in the Elfstedenhal
11 October 2021 JES

As chairman of the De Zilveren Bal Foundation, Wietze Jongsma is closely involved in the organization and strategy of the skating event. The Zilveren Bal is the world’s fastest skating show and will take place for the sixth time on Wednesday evening 16 March 2022 in the Elfstedenhal in Leeuwarden. A kick-off will be organized for all sponsors and will take place on November 17, 2021.

With the best international speed skating sprinters at the start, exciting races over 100 meters and a spectacular show, it will be after a year of absence due to the coronavirus a great evening. Each time, three absolute toppers compete against each other for a place in the next round. In the end, the three fastest ladies and gentlemen remain. The audience stands directly against the cushions during the matches and feels the ice splashing at the start! Absolute top sport in combination with unique entertainment results in a great evening!

The Elfstedenhal, De Zilveren Bal and KNSB are joining forces for a packed closing week of skating for young and old. From 12 to 20 March 2022, the Elfstedenhal in Leeuwarden will be dominated by the closing skating week of the Netherlands. During this week, visitors can enjoy various events, but also participate in various activities and clinics. The full program will be announced this fall, but one thing is certain: it will be a packed program with events for everyone. There is also the opportunity for companies and initiatives to develop their own activities in the Elfstedenhal during this week.

The events have been organized in the Elfstedenhal before, but never before have the various parties joined forces in this way to connect everything and everyone. For more information, see www.dezilverenbal.nl.
